German movie "The white ribbon" shown in Dallas

2010 GOLDEN GLOBE® WINNER Michael Haneke (CACHE, FUNNY GAMES, THE PIANO PLAYER) directs this Cannes runaway favorite, a piece called “imacutlatey crafted” (Variety), “stunningly photographed and deliberately paced” (The Hollywood Reporter).

Shot in gorgeous black and white, THE WHITE RIBBON, through a host of mysterious accidents which gradually takes on the character of a punishment ritual, captures the tension and uncertainty of a small German village on the eve of World War I. THE WHITE RIBBON took three awards at Cannes this year, including the coveted Golden Palm.

Awards Winner: Golden Palm - Cannes Film Festival, 2010 GOLDEN GLOBE® WINNER
